Principle and function of cupping

Author : Coach Date : 6/5/2022 10:29:48 PM
There are three main principles of cupping, namely, mechanical stimulation, negative pressure effect and warming effect. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Irritant effect. Cupping therapy causes negative pressure in the tank through exhaust, the tank edge can be tightly attached to the skin surface, pulling the nerves, muscles, blood vessels and subcutaneous glands, which can cause a series of neuroendocrine reactions, regulate the vasomotor function and vascular permeability, so as to improve local blood circulation.

2. Negative pressure effect. The negative pressure of cupping causes local rapid congestion, congestion, even rupture of small capillaries, destruction of red blood cells, and hemolysis. The release of hemoglobin from red blood cells is a benign stimulus to the body. It can bi directionally regulate the functions of tissues and organs through the nervous system, promote the phagocytosis of white blood cells, improve the sensitivity and tolerance of the skin to external changes, and enhance the immunity of the body. Secondly, the strong suction and pull-out force of negative pressure can fully open sweat pores, stimulate and strengthen the functions of sweat glands and sebaceous glands, and the aging cells on the skin surface fall off, thus accelerating the discharge of toxins and wastes from the body.

3. Warm action. The local warming effect of cupping can not only dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow, but also enhance the permeability of blood vessel wall and phagocytosis of cells. The changes of vascular tension and mucosal permeability at the cupping site, the acceleration of lymphatic circulation and the strengthening of phagocytosis undoubtedly form a good environment for anti biological etiology of infectious lesions. In addition, the chronic stimulation of hemolysis has a health care function for the human body.

Classified in the form of cupping, it can be divided into the following methods:

1. Single tank: used for small lesion or obvious tenderness points. The appropriate caliber of the cupping can be selected according to the extent of the lesion or tenderness.

2. Multi tank: used for diseases with a wide range of pathological changes. It can suck and pull several or even arrange and pull more than ten cans at the diseased part, which is called "can draining method". If a certain muscle bundle is strained, cupping can be arranged in rows according to the position of the muscle bundle. When treating blood stasis in some internal organs, cupping can be arranged vertically and horizontally on the corresponding body surface according to the anatomical parts of the internal organs.

3. Flash tank: it can be lifted up after being sucked and pulled out for many times. Pull the can up and down immediately, pull it up and down again, and pull it up and down repeatedly until the skin is flushed. It is mainly used for deficiency syndrome of local skin numbness or hypofunction.

4. Can retention: it shall be retained for a certain time after suction. That is, after cupping, keep it for 5 ~ 20 minutes. If the pot is large and has strong suction force, the pot retention time should be appropriately reduced. In summer and at barren places, the pot retention time should not be too long to avoid damaging the skin.

5. Pushing can: also known as moving can, it pushes and pulls back and forth on the skin surface after suction. It is generally used in areas with large area and rich muscles, such as waist and back, hips, legs and thighs. It is necessary to select a tank with a large diameter, and the tank mouth should be smooth. The glass tank is best. First, apply some lubricating grease on the tank mouth, hold the tank bottom with your hands, and tilt it slightly, that is, the rear half of the tank should exert force, press it upward, and the front half of the tank should be pushed forward slowly without force. In this way, you can push and pull it up and down, left and right for dozens of times, until the skin is flushed or stagnant.
